Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data NordBass handles on nordbassaudio.com and in the Solvex Audio app, why, and what your rights are. The short version: no ads, no tracking, no analytics, and we never sell your data.
Who we are
NordBass, based in Norway, is responsible (the "data controller") for the personal data described here. NordBass runs the website nordbassaudio.com and makes the Solvex Audio software.
Contact: post.nordbass@gmail.com
The website
- No cookies, no analytics. nordbassaudio.com doesn't set cookies, and we don't use Google Analytics or any other tracking.
- Hosting. The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details (browser type, the page you asked for, time) to deliver the site and protect it against attacks. Cloudflare may run a short security check in your browser, and in rare cases set a security cookie if it needs to verify your connection.
- Fonts and icons. The page loads its fonts from Google Fonts and its icons from cdnjs (run by Cloudflare). Your browser connects to these services directly, so they receive your IP address.
- Downloads. The app is downloaded from GitHub, which receives your IP address when you download.
- Social media. Links to Facebook, TikTok and Instagram only take you to those sites. Nothing is loaded from them until you click.
The Solvex Audio app
- Your work stays on your computer. Projects, driver libraries and settings are stored locally. The app has no analytics, telemetry or crash reporting.
- Microphone. The Measurement tab uses a microphone only while you run a measurement. Recordings are processed on your computer and are never uploaded.
- Update checks. The app asks GitHub whether a newer version exists. This request contains your IP address and the app's version number, nothing else. You can turn automatic update checks off in the app's settings.
- Trial. Your trial is tied to your computer and stored only on your computer. Nothing about the trial is sent to us.
- Paid licences. To tie a licence to your computer, the app creates a machine code: a one-way code calculated from hardware identifiers. The hardware identifiers themselves never leave your computer. When you activate a licence, the app sends your licence key and this machine code to our licensing provider, LemonSqueezy. The app checks the licence again from time to time; it works offline for up to 72 hours between checks. Deactivating a licence in the app removes your computer from it.
Purchases
Home and Pro are sold through LemonSqueezy, which acts as the merchant of record: it takes the payment, handles taxes and is responsible for your payment details. Your card details never reach us.
From LemonSqueezy we receive your name, email address, country, what you bought, and your licence details. We use these to deliver and manage your licence, to help you if you contact us, and for our accounting.
When you contact us
If you email us, we use your email address and what you write only to answer you.
Why we're allowed to (legal basis)
- To provide what you asked for (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)): delivering and checking licences, purchases, and answering your emails.
- Our legitimate interests (art. 6(1)(f)): running a secure website, and checking for updates so you get fixes.
- Legal obligations (art. 6(1)(c)): keeping order records as Norwegian accounting law requires.
How long we keep data
- Order and accounting records: as long as Norwegian bookkeeping law requires.
- Licence activations: while your licence is active, and then as long as needed for support and accounting.
- Emails: as long as needed to help you, then deleted.
Services outside Norway and the EU
Cloudflare, Google, GitHub and LemonSqueezy are based in the United States, so some data may be processed there. These companies use the safeguards EU law requires for such transfers, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the EU's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or get a copy to take elsewhere. Email post.nordbass@gmail.com and we'll answer within one month.
If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
