Terms of Use & Disclaimer

Last updated:

These terms apply to the Solvex Audio software and to nordbassaudio.com, both provided by NordBass, Norway. By downloading, installing or using Solvex Audio, or by using this website, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the software.

The short version

  • Solvex Audio is a design and simulation tool. Its results are estimates, not guarantees.
  • You are responsible for checking every design, calculation and installation before you build, buy or power anything.
  • NordBass is not responsible for damaged speakers, amplifiers, vehicles, electrical systems, batteries or other property, or for fire, injury or other losses that come from using the software or its results, as far as the law allows.

Results are estimates

Solvex Audio calculates results from mathematical models (such as Thiele/Small parameters) and from the data you enter or import. Real-world results will differ because of driver manufacturing tolerances, inaccurate or outdated driver data, materials, build quality, air leaks, temperature, the room or vehicle, and many other factors.

This applies to everything the software shows, including frequency response, cone excursion, port air velocity, box volumes, cutting lists, panel dimensions, DXF/SVG exports, fit checks, and all calculators: wiring and impedance, Ohm's law, wire sizing, battery sizing, amplifier power matching, subsonic filters, dB/SPL and vehicle space. A warning that does not appear is not a promise that a design is safe.

Your responsibility

Before you cut, build, buy, wire or power anything based on Solvex Audio, you are responsible for:

  • checking all results, measurements and cutting lists yourself;
  • following the manufacturer's specifications and power ratings for every speaker, amplifier, battery, wire and component;
  • using correct fuses, wire sizes, connections and grounding, and installing everything according to good practice and applicable law, including electrical and vehicle regulations;
  • making sure the enclosure and equipment are securely mounted, especially in a vehicle;
  • using a qualified professional for any work you aren't fully confident doing yourself;
  • keeping volume at safe levels. The built-in tone generator and high sound levels can damage speakers and your hearing.

Speaker, amplifier and vehicle electrical systems involve high currents, heat and stored energy. Mistakes can cause equipment failure, fire, damage to property or injury. You carry out any build or installation at your own risk.

Beta software

Solvex Audio is currently in beta. It may contain errors, give wrong results, change, or stop working. Keep your own backups of projects and files.

Driver data and website content

The built-in driver library and imported driver data come from manufacturers' published specifications and other sources. NordBass does not guarantee that they are correct or complete. Guides, articles and other content on this website are general information, not professional advice for your specific project.

No warranty

The software and the website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of results, or that the software will be free of errors, as far as the law allows.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, NordBass is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, Solvex Audio, its results, or this website. This includes, among other things:

  • damage to or failure of speakers, subwoofers, amplifiers, batteries, wiring, vehicles, electrical systems or other equipment;
  • fire, overheating, explosion, water or other damage to property;
  • wasted materials, building costs, or loss of data, time, income or profit;
  • any indirect or consequential loss.

If NordBass is nevertheless found liable, total liability is limited to the amount you paid NordBass for Solvex Audio in the 12 months before the claim arose, or 500 NOK if you used the free edition.

What these terms don't limit: nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Norwegian law, such as liability for intentional acts or gross negligence, or for personal injury where the law makes it mandatory. If you are a consumer, you keep all rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

Licence to use the software

  • NordBass gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Solvex Audio in the edition you have access to. NordBass keeps all rights to the software.
  • You may not copy, sell, share, rent out or redistribute the software or licence keys, or try to get around its licensing.
  • Paid editions are sold by LemonSqueezy as merchant of record, and their checkout terms apply to the purchase, payment, renewals and refunds.
  • NordBass may suspend a licence that is used in breach of these terms.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes are settled by the Norwegian courts. Consumers may also use the courts and complaint bodies they are entitled to under the law of their home country.

If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies.
